WASHINGTON – Senior Meaghan Nally was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading the No. 13 Georgetown women's soccer team to a pair of shutouts last week. The Hoyas tied with No. 10 Duke on Wednesday night in a scoreless tie and then shut out Bucknell on Sunday 2-0.

Nally anchored a defense that allowed the Bison to take just three shots, all occurring in the second half. Between both matches, GU outshot its opponents on the week by a combined 33-13 margin.

The Blue & Gray will meet No. 6 Virginia on Thursday, Sept. 5 for another ACC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium. The match will be aired live on the ACC Network and live stats will be available at GUHoyas.com. Tickets can be purchased here.
