Hoyas Defeat Drexel 4-2 at Yates, Falls on the Road at Navy

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown men's tennis team (3-3) picked up win number three on the season on Tuesday evening at Yates Field House. The Hoyas battled Drexel (2-4)  to a 4-2 win, their first win at home this season. GU came up short at Navy (6-3), falling to the Midshipmen 6-1. 

GU edged out the Dragons In doubles competition, with Andrew Rozanov and Rohan Kamdar defeating Sanil Jagtiani and Xandy Hammitt 7-6 and the duo of Connor Lee and Charlie Sharton downing Hugo Brungs and Gustav Wogen 6-1.

In singles competition, Lee was caught up in a thriller with Sanil Jagtiani on Court 1, winning 7-6, 7-6.  Kamdar went three sets with Hugo Brungs (Drexel) before winning out in the final set 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Luke Ross secured the win for the Hoyas after defeating Alvaro Cruz Chamorro (Drexel) 6-3, 6-3. 

Rozanov went three sets with Jack Dabek (Navy), taking the last two sets despite falling back in set one 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. The Hoyas were only able to muster up one point against the Midshipmen. 

The Hoyas will turn their attention toward BIG EAST Conference play when they travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to go up against Xavier on Friday morning. GU will then follow up Friday's match with a trip to Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday to face off against Butler.
