WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's
Jahvon Blair was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday following a 1-1 week for the Blue & Gray. Blair poured in a career-high 23 points to help the Hoyas overcome a 17-point second half deficit and take a thrilling 73-72 win over St. John's at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. It was a 1-1 week for the Hoyas after dropping a 69-64 decision to the visiting then-No. 16/17 Butler Bulldogs.
Blair averaged 15.5 ppg last week and shot 50.0 percent from downtown. The junior guard eclipsed his previous game best as he logged a full 40 minutes and knocked down five triples in the effort. Blair's five 3-pointers moved him to 119 for his career, surpassing Marcus Derrickson (117) on the program's all-time list. He sits at 18th on the all-time list and just one behind Brandon Bowman's 120.
This is Blair's first nod to the honor roll and the fifth of the season for the Blue & Gray.
