EASTON, Pa. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team won its third-straight season opener with an emphatic 17-3 victory on the road at Lafayette on Saturday afternoon. The No. 17/16 Hoyas improve to 7-3 all-time against the Leopards.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
• Georgetown won its third-straight season opener.
• Nine different Hoyas scored goals in the game, including six from
Dylan Watson and four from
Jake Carraway.
• Watson had an assist as well, leading the Blue & Gray with seven points.

Robert Clark tallied a goal and added five assists for six points, while Carraway also had an assist for five points.
•
Declan McDermott and Neko Gekas both had a goal and an assist.

Cade MacLeod,
Peter Thompson,
Colin Munro and
Alex Mazzone all scored lone goals while
Sean O'Keefe and
Connor Humiston added an assist each.

James Reilly won 10-of-16 (.625) faceoffs and joined Mazzone with the team lead with five ground balls.
• As a team, the Hoyas were credited with 13 caused turnovers including three from
James Donaldson.
• Georgetown's defense held Lafayette scoreless for the first 25:24 of the game and did not allow more than a single goal each frame the rest of the way.

Owen McElroy picked up the win between the pipes, collecting three saves and allowing just two goals in 49:19 of action.
• Georgetown's defense held Lafayette to just 22 shots on the day and outhustled the Leopards 42-20 in ground balls.
LAFAYETTE NOTES
• Lafayette (0-2) had three different goals scorers with none of them assisted.
• Two Leopards had a team-high three ground balls and two players had a pair of caused turnovers.
