WASHINGTON – Georgetown University and the Department of Athletics has announced the cancelation of all spring practices and competitions effective immediately. The decision was made in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and is in alignment with the NCAA as well as the BIG EAST Conference and the Patriot League.
 
The University has strongly encouraged all undergraduate students to return to their permanent addresses as a virtual learning environment is in place. 
 
"We recognize the deep disappointment that will be felt by our student-athletes, coaches, and communities -- especially our seniors, who have contributed so much to the success of our programs over the last four years," said Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed.  "Please know this decision was made out of the utmost consideration for the health, safety and well-being of all."
