Anna Short Wraps Up Her Career With GU Tennis

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's tennis team says farewell to captain Anna Shot as we countdown the final weeks of the 2019-20 school year.

Short, a government major, served as the captain of the women's team during her senior season. She ended her career with 17 wins in dual matches. Short's career was highlighted by an impressive 6-2 doubles victory over Ashley Chao and Becky Chou of then No. 13 UC San Diego during her freshman season. Short was also named to the BIG EAST All-Academic team  after her sophomore campaign.

"Anna has contributed so much to the Hoya tennis program. From her mentorship of younger players to her contributions on and off the court, she has left her mark on the university and athletic department. She grew into an outstanding leader, guiding the team as captain her senior year. I am confident that Anna will bring the energy and excitement she brought to the tennis court every day into her life after Georgetown." said Head Coach Courtney Dolehide

To My Georgetown Family:

The past four years wearing the Georgetown G were truly special. Thank you, Courtney, Freddy, and the entire athletic department for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love at such an amazing university. Although this goodbye came too early, it truly showed me that every moment is one to cherish. I could not be more grateful for my teammates who I am blessed to call lifelong friends. Lastly thank you Mom, Dad, and Gary for giving me the opportunity to go to Georgetown, while being the best supporters I could've asked for. I could not be more appreciative of my time on the Hilltop, and cannot wait to cheer on the Hoyas next year!
