WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's swimming & diving team earned the 2019-20 BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Award, given to the team in each conference sport that has the highest collective GPA. It is the third-consecutive year the Hoyas have received the recognition on the men's side.
The Blue & Gray recorded a team GPA of 3.67 during the spring semester and had three student-athletes named to the Dean's List. Earlier this month, both GU squads earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors. Additionally, three Hoyas –
Drew Carbone,
Connor Morikawa and
Brett Sherman – were all named CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention.
Both the men's and women's squads finished second at the 2020 BIG EAST Championships and the women's 749 points were the most in program history. The Blue & Gray won 11 total gold medals at the meet and set a total of 19 new program records while 23 Hoyas earned All-BIG EAST honors. Head Diving Coach
