WASHINGTON – The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced an important change to the plan to add women's squash as its 30th varsity sport. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the
news that all fall sports have been postponed, the Athletics Department will be unable to make the 2020-21 academic year the inaugural squash season on the Hilltop. This decision follows the recent
announcement from President DeGioia regarding a move to virtual education in the fall. The Department is following the University's current guidance regarding on-campus activities and there will not be in-person team activities at this time.
Georgetown University hopes to resume the process of transitioning the women's squash club program to becoming the 30th varsity sport when conditions allow and the University is safely able to resume normal operations on the Hilltop.
