WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Lee Reed announced on Friday that Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach
Courtney Dolehide has resigned, her last day will be October 1. Dolehide had been at the helm of the program for the past two years, after serving in an assistant role with the program for her first season.
Last year, the season was cut short due to COVID-19, but both squads had a handful of wins already on the books prior to the cancelation. In her first season with complete control over the men's and women's team, she led the men to a 6-11 record and a BIG EAST Quarterfinal finish. Dolehide led the 4-16 women's team to a BIG EAST Quarterfinal finish after sweeping Butler 4-0 in BIG EAST First Round. The run ended after falling to No. 1 seed Xavier in the quarterfinals.
Off the court, she had an impressive 38 student-athletes named to the BIG EAST All-Academic team during her tenure.
"I want to thank Courtney for her outstanding work with our student-athletes over the past three years," said Reed. "Courtney stepped in and took over two programs leading them to success both on the court and in the classroom. She has been a valuable part of the Hoya Family and we are sad to see her go, but are excited to see her move on knowing she made an impact within the lives of our student-athletes."
The search for Dolehide's replacement will begin immediately. Georgetown thanks Dolehide for her contributions to the Hoya program and wishes her well in her new career as senior consultant at Ernst & Young.
