WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's squash team put together a dominant victory in the program's first ever match, sweeping Haverford 9-0 on Saturday evening in Annapolis, Maryland. The No. 27 Hoyas won eight of their nine matches 3-0 against the No. 26 Fords.
"It was a great start to the season," Head Coach
Tim Lasusa said after the win. "The team started off strong and we kept the momentum going throughout the match. We are looking forward to competing tomorrow against Denison."
Hoya Notes
- Georgetown won each of the top three flights 3-0.
- Zuha Nazir posted an 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 victory in the top spot, followed by Nina Thomas winning 11-3, 11-8, 11-9 at No. 2 and Caroline Wilcox posting an 11-7, 11-8, 11-5 win the third position.
- Nicole Cariño won 11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6 in the fourth spot.
- The Hoyas then completed the sweep in the bottom half of the ladder with five more 3-0 victories.
- Grace Feagin won 11-6, 11-7, 11-8 in the fifth position, Nina Flinn won 11-6, 11-9, 11-5 in the sixth spot and Sarah Conner won 11-6, 11-4, 11-4 at No. 7.
- Wrapping up the sweep, Minna Holleck won 11-3, 11-2, 11-1 at No. 8 and Chloe Kim was victorious 11-2, 11-0, 11-2 in the ninth spot.
- Playing an exhibition, Catherine Friendly won 11-1, 11-5, 11-7 as well.

The Hoyas return to action on Sunday against No. 28 Denison in Annapolis.
