Georgetown Men’s Rowing Team Wins Eight Events at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta

WASHINGTON – In its final out of the season, the Georgetown University men's rowing team won a total of eight events at the Head of the Occoquan regatta in Fairfax Station, Virginia on Saturday. 

Results

  • Charles Koontz finished in first place in the Men's Championship 1x.

  • The varsity 8+ boats podium saw the Hoyas take first place with a final time of 15:48.44. 

  • The Hoyas finished the lightweight 8+ with a final time of 16:30.00 to earn them another first place finish. 

  • The Collegiate men's Junior Varsity 8+ also saw the Hoyas take first place with a final time of 16:19.30. The Hoyas final time was more than a minute better than second place finishing George Washington University.

  • Georgetown finished in the top spot of the podium in the Frosh 4+ category beating out Pitt and Susquehanna. 

  • The Frosh 8+ saw similar results as the frosh 4+ for the Hoyas as they finished in the top spot again for the sixth consecutive win on the day. 

  • In the third to last event of the day, the Hoyas placed third in the varsity 4+ with a final time of 18:20.24.

  • The Hoyas earned another two first place finishes in their final races of the day which were the collegiate lightweight 4+ and the junior varsity 4+.

The Hoyas have completed their fall regatta schedule and will return to action in the spring.
