WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's soccer graduate student Sydney Cummings was named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-America Second Team on Thursday evening. The list comes after Georgetown's impressive 14-2-6 season with the Hoyas clinching their fifth BIG EAST title in six years from Cummings' game-winning goal over St. John's (1-0). Cummings is in her first year at Georgetown after transferring from Brown in the fall of 2021.

• Cummings was named to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's East Region First Team earlier this week along with Kelly Ann Livingstone and Julia Leas. 
• The Hoya also made the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team and was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player from her 64th minute goal to secure the conference title for Georgetown yet again.
• Earning two national honors, she was named TopDrawerSoccer's Player of the Week and named to its Team of the Week for Georgetown's 1-0 win over then-ranked No. 9 Rutgers and a 0-0 tie against West Virginia. 
• The Millstone Township, New Jersey native was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after keeping St. John's leading scorer and fellow All-America team member Ksani Kajan from scoring.
• Cummings' performance throughout the season earned her being named to the BIG EAST First Team as she helped to secure 13 shutouts for the Blue & Gray.
• After 12 wins, six ties, and only one loss Cummings was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year.
• The center back scored five goals for Georgetown this season to secure wins over Butler, Seton Hall, and St. John's.
