Georgetown Softball Announces 2021-22 Schedule

WASHINGTON – Georgetown Softball Head Coach Pat Conlan has announced the 2021-22 Softball schedule. The squad returns to a full schedule of play after playing a shortened 2020-21 season with four consecutive weekend tournaments in February and early March before opening BIG EAST play in mid-March.
 
The Hoyas start the month of February on the road with the Kickin' Chicken Tournament from February 11-13 in Conway, South Carolina. Georgetown will start tournament play against East Carolina on Friday, Feb. 11 at 12:30 p.m. followed by a matchup against hosts, Coastal Carolina, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday starts with the Blue & Gray playing East Carolina at 10:00 a.m with a second game against Coastal Carolina at 3:00 p.m. The Hoyas finish the Kickin' Chicken on Sunday with a 10:00 a.m. first pitch against the Purdue Boilermakers.
 
GU is back in action the weekend of February 18-20 when it heads to Greenville, South Carolina to play in Furman University's Tournament. On Friday, Feb. 18 Georgetown has a game at 11:30 a.m. against South Carolina and a second at 2:00 p.m. versus St. Francis. On Saturday, the Hoyas face South Dakota at 4:30 p.m. with a second game at 7 p.m. against Furman. On Sunday, the squad will play St. Francis at 11:30 a.m to close out play in Greenville.
 
The Blue & Gray's first games closer to home will be in Baltimore, Maryland at UMBC's Round Robin on February 26 and 27. The weekend starts Saturday, February 26 against UMBC and Coppin State at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively, followed by the same two matchups at 10:00 a.m. (UMBC) and 2:00 p.m. (Coppin State) on Sunday, February 27. 
 
The Hoyas round out the month of tournament play with THE Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida from March 4-6. The squad starts the tournament on Friday versus Middle Tennessee State at 1:30 p.m. followed by Nebraska-Omaha at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday the Hoyas play Rhode Island at 11:00 a.m and Albany at 1:30 p.m. The last two games of the tournament are set to begin at 11:30 a.m. against Central Michigan and 2:00 p.m against LIU. 
 
GU is set to open up BIG EAST Conference play with a weekend trip to Omaha, Nebraska from March 11-13 to play Creighton before the 2021-22 home opener series from March 18-20 against UConn. March 30 will see the Hoyas remain in the District as they head to George Washington for a matchup. The Hoyas then hit a string of road games starting with Providence from April 1-3 in Rhode Island, Towson in Maryland on April 7, and Villanova from April 8-10 in Pennsylvania.
 
The squad will host Seton Hall from April 15-17 and Coppin State on Tuesday, April 19. The last road game for the Hoyas will be in Chicago as the Hoyas are set to play DePaul on April 22-24. Georgetown rounds out conference play in the District against St. John's from April 29 through May 1 and Butler from May 12-13. 
 
The BIG EAST Championship is scheduled for May 12-14 in Rosemont, Illinois.
