Men’s Basketball Travels to DePaul Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team travels to Chicago for its first matchup against DePaul this season. Tipoff at the Blue Demons' Wintrust Arena is scheduled for noon ET.
 
GAMEDAY INFORMATION
  • Tuesday's game can be seen live on FS1  with Eric Collins calling the play-by-play and Dickey Simpkins providing analysis.
  • The game can be heard locally on The Team 980 as well as SiriusXM 384 and Radio.com with Rich Chvotkin in his 47th season on the call.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas dropped a 70-57 decision to UConn on Tuesday night at McDonough Arena.
  • Qudus Wahab managed a career-high 18 points and a game-best 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. He was 5-of-6 from the field (.833) and added another eight points from the charity stripe while posting one assist and one block.
  • Jamorko Pickett (10) and Dante Harris (10) were the other two Hoyas in double figures, while each dished out a trio of assists and Harris had a squad-best three steals.On Monday, Pickett was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • For the season, Jahvon Blair leads the team in scoring with 15.8 ppg, ranking sixth in the BIG EAST. He is one of four players among the top 10 in both scoring and assists (9th; 4.3 apg). He also leads the league in 3-pointers per game (2.7).
  • Pickett (12.6) and Wahab (12.1) are also scoring in double figures. Wahab is second in the conference in rebounding (8.2), while third in blocks (2.0) and field goal percentage (57.6). Pickett is third in rebounding (8.1).
  • Georgetown is atop the BIG EAST in rebounding (40.4) and rebounding margin (+5.0).
 
SCOUTING DEPAUL
  • DePaul comes in with a 4-11 record and a 2-11 mark in BIG EAST play, having lost six of their past seven games, including a loss at Creighton on Wednesday.
  • The Blue Demons average just 65.9 ppg and are allowing 71.1 ppg to opponents. They are second behind the Hoyas in team rebounding (38.1). 
  • Charlie Moore leads DePaul with 14.2 ppg and 4.3 apg. Javon Freeman-Liberty is scoring 13.4 ppg, while Romeo Weems is pulling down 6.1 rpg.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday will be the 44th all-time meeting between Georgetown and DePaul. The Hoyas hold a 32-11 series
  • advantage, including a 14-6 mark in Chicago.
  • The two teams split last year's series, with each squad winning on its home court. Georgetown came away with a 76-72 win at Capital One Arena, before DePaul won two weeks later, 74-68.
  • Blair had a career-high 30 points in the home victory over the Blue Demons, hitting 11-of-18 shots from the floor, and Wahab had six blocks. Pickett had 19 points and seven rebounds in the matchup in Chicago.
  • Head Coach Patrick Ewing is 3-3 against DePaul as GU's head coach and went 2-1 against the Blue Demons as a player.

The Hoyas will return home to McDonough Arena for their final home game of the season, hosting Xavier on Tuesday, March 2. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast live on FS1.
