The league office announced that Livingstone was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and Vicari was chosen for her third-consecutive appearance on the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Both Hoyas played important roles in a week which saw GU maintain its unbeaten run, with the squad edging Villanova 2-0 on Thursday, and St. John's 1-0 on Sunday.
Defensive Player of the Week: Kelly Ann Livingstone, Senior, D, Glen Ridge, N.J.
- Last week, Livingstone led a Georgetown defense that conceded just three shots on goal over its two matches.
- Against Villanova, Livingstone's backline allowed just four shots and one corner.
- During the St. John's match, the Blue & Gray defense restricted the Red Storm to just two shots, with neither landing on target.
- Georgetown's back four are the only BIG EAST team yet to allow a goal this campaign.
Weekly Honor Roll: Gia Vicari, Soph., F, Reading, Pa.
- Led the Hoyas' attack last week, tallying four points over the two games against Villanova and St. John's.
- In the Villanova match, Vicari dribbled the ball down the right side, beat her mark at the byline, then passed the ball across the face of goal for graduate student Daisy Cleverley to finish.
- In that same game, Vicari scored a tap-in at the back post after senior Jenna Menta surged into the Wildcat penalty area.
- Against the Red Storm, she assisted the sole goal of the game. She received the ball on the left and, after cutting inside to beat her mark, fed the onrushing Sofie Fox who latched onto the pass, shifted into the Red Storm box, and found the back of the net.
