WASHINGTON – Seniors
Kelly Ann Livingstone and
Jenna Menta have been selected for this week's BIG EAST awards list, the league office announced on Monday, March 22. Menta was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Livingstone earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll. In another undefeated week for Georgetown, Menta was the spark in a five-goal week for the Hoyas, while Livingstone kept the defensive unit solid, as they only conceded once throughout the week. The Blue & Gray enjoyed an overtime victory against UConn (2-1) on March 18, and a comfortable win against Seton Hall (3-0) on March 21.
Offensive Player of the Week: Jenna Menta, Sr., F, Somers, N.Y.
- With Menta at the center of GU's attack, she tallied three goal contributions over last week's two matches.
- Against UConn, Menta registered both of Georgetown's goals.
- Her first strike came minutes into the first half, courtesy of senior Grace Nguyen's pass, while Menta's second goal sealed the win for GU in overtime after a dropped save by UConn's goalkeeper.
- Against Seton Hall, Menta fed the ball to Georgetown's top-scorer Gia Vicari, who converted the Blue & Gray's first goal of the match.
- Last week's two goals and one assist places Menta at 11 points on the season.
Weekly Honor Roll: Kelly Ann Livingstone, Sr., D, Glen Ridge, N.J.
- Livingstone's backline held its opponents to just one goal, with only five shots landing on target.
- Against UConn, Livingstone's defense restricted the Huskies to six shots on the afternoon, with only three finding the target.
- During the Seton Hall match, Livingstone successfully anchored a Hoya defense that conceded just four shots, limiting SHU to just two strikes on target.
- Livingstone showcased her attacking prowess as well, grabbing Georgetown's third goal of the game to cement the 3-0 road win for the Hoyas.
- Livingstone has started all six of the Hoyas' BIG EAST Conference games in a defensive unit that has allowed just one goal.
