Eight Hoyas Earn BIG EAST Season Awards

WASHINGTON – The BIG EAST Conference announced on Thursday, April 15, that eight student-athletes from the No .10 Georgetown University women's soccer program had been selected for BIG EAST postseason awards. After a successful regular-season campaign which saw GU finish 9-0-1 (7-0-1 in the BIG EAST), Jenna Menta, Daisy Cleverley, Kelly Ann Livingstone, Gia Vicari, Lauren Gallagher, Jenna Royson, Julia Leas, and Erin Martin were voted by the league's coaches as outstanding performers.

Jenna Menta | Sr. | BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year / All-BIG EAST First Team  
  • Leads the BIG EAST in assists (7), and assists per game (.70).
  • Is the second-highest points scorer in the conference (behind teammate Gia Vicari), registering 11 heading into postseason play.
  • Tallied three goals and seven assists for a points-per-game average of 1.30.
  • In three of her past four seasons with the program, Menta has recorded 10+ points; her career total now stands at 35.
  • Was named United Soccer Coaches' College Player of the Week on March 24; the senior also earned a BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week nod on March 22.
  • This is her second BIG EAST regular-season honor after being named to the All-Freshman team in 2017. 

Daisy Cleverley | Gr. | BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year / All-BIG EAST First Team
  • In her first season with the Hoyas, Cleverley tallied two goals and an assist over her 10 starts.
  • Registered 16 shots this campaign, with six finding the target.
  • Has one game-winning goal to her credit.
  • Contributed one assist in Georgetown's opening game against George Mason, and a goal in each of GU's matchups with BIG EAST rival Villanova.

Kelly Ann Livingstone | Sr. | BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year / All-BIG EAST First Team
  • Anchored a backline which only conceded one goal this campaign.
  • Awarded BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on March 15.
  • Also earned consecutive weekly honor roll nods on March 22 and 29.
  • Chipped in with a goal against Seton Hall University on March 21.

Gia Vicari | So. | All-BIG EAST First Team
  • Leads the BIG EAST in points (22) and points per game (2.20) with nine goals and four assists.
  • Her nine goals is good enough for top-scorer in the conference, alongside BU's Anja Savich (also 9).
  • Was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on March 29, as well as earning three separate weekly honor roll nods throughout the campaign.
  • Is fifth in the BIG EAST with four assists.
  • For game-winning goals, Vicari sits atop the standings with four, two more than next-best Savich.

Lauren Gallagher | Gr. | All-BIG EAST Second team
  • Made nine appearances in net for the Hoyas this season.
  • Tallied 11 saves throughout the season as Georgetown outscored opponents 25-1 with her in net.
  • Ranks second in the BIG EAST, behind classmate Alyssa Navarrete, in goals against average, conceding just one goal over her nine matches.
  • Her save percentage is also second-best at .909.
  • Faced 10 shots against Providence on March 25, making three saves and securing a clean sheet for GU.

Julia Leas | So. | All-BIG EAST Second Team
  • Registered goals against George Washington and Providence on February 28 and March 7, respectively.
  • Also chipped in with an assist in a commanding 7-0 win against Villanova.
  • Played every game for Georgetown this season, starting all 10. 
  • Her 889.54 minutes this season is the most out of any other Georgetown player.
  • Was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after the campaign's opening matchweek. 

Jenna Royson | Jr. | All-BIG EAST Second Team
  • Registered 12 shots as a defender this season, with six finding the target.
  • Was tabbed as the BIG EAST's Preseason Defender of the Year.
  • Also named to the conference's All BIG-EAST preseason team.
  • This is her second-consecutive All-BIG EAST Second Team nod.
  • Is tied with Sofie Fox and Grace Nguyen as the third-highest active goalscorer at Georgetown (4).

Erin Martin | Fr. | All-Freshman Team
  • Appeared in 10 games for the Hoyas this season.
  • The midfielder tallied three shots this season, with two of those finding the target.
  • Played a season-high 66 minutes against Providence on March 25, with GU playing to a draw against the Friars after two overtime periods.
