WASHINGTON – Georgetown University recognized its graduating seniors with both in-person and virtual events over the past few days as more than 150 student-athletes were honored earning bachelor's and master's degrees. Additionally, a number of student-athletes were honored with awards from their individual colleges during the festivities.

Thomas Francis Graham Award
Georgetown College
The Thomas Francis Graham Award was founded by the Graham Family in memory of their father Thomas Francis Graham (C'1949). The honor of this award is bestowed upon a graduating senior of the College who has demonstrated throughout his or her college career concern for others, academic achievement, sportsmanship as a member of an intercollegiate team and dedication to the educational and spiritual goals of Georgetown University.
- Named the 2020 BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Women's Diver of the Meet.
- 2020 BIG EAST 1-meter and 3-meter champion, setting the Georgetown record in the 3-meter prelims.
- Helped lead the Hoyas to their highest point total (749) at the 2020 BIG EAST Championships.
- Finished first or second in all but three diving events during the 2019-20 season, and never finished below third place in 20 events.
- Selected as BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week on Oct. 22, 2019.
- Holds the GU record in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
- Career five-time All-BIG EAST honoree.
- A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection.
- A sociology major.

Stephanie Waterman Medal
Walsh School of Foreign Service
The Stephanie Waterman Medal is named in memory of a student in the School of Foreign Service who was captain of the varsity tennis team and who died in Senegal in 1985. The medal is awarded to the outstanding scholar-athlete of the graduating class.
- Tied for 18th at the 2021 BIG EAST Championship as a senior after tying for 13th at the 2019 BIG EAST Championship.
- Named a 2019 WGCA Academic All-American.
- Three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection.
- 2021 PNC Student-Athlete Achiever recipient
- Recipient of the Boren Scholarship, funded by the US State Department, to study and work in Tanzania for 10 weeks during Summer 2019.
- Volunteers with the Georgetown Renewable Energy Network.
- Volunteers for the Citizens Climate Lobby, working for climate legislation, as well as a fellow for Climate Change Core Pathways at Georgetown.
- President of Hoya Hive, the beekeeping club on campus.
- A science, technology and international affairs major.
The awards were distributed at virtual Tropaia Ceremonies held by the individual school. The word Tropaia, meaning trophy, is ancient Greek and referred to a monument constructed to celebrate a military victory. Last week, student-athletes were invited to a virtual celebration featuring speakers and well wishes for the Class of 2021.
The Class of 2021 enjoyed enormous athletic successes, appearing in a combined 16 NCAA Tournaments and bringing 48 BIG EAST Team and Individual Championships home to the Hilltop. Competing in both the BIG EAST Conference and the Patriot League, this year's senior class combined to garner 128 postseason all-league awards as well as being the recipients of more than 200 academic all-league honors.
