Hoyas Defeat Villanova 14-12 to Advance to BIG EAST Championship Final

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Playing for the third time this season, Georgetown University defeated No. 11/12 Villanova 14-12 to advance to the finals of the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship, presented by JEEP. The eighth-ranked Hoyas will make their third-straight appearance in the title game after winning back-to-back crowns in 2018 and 2019.

VILLANOVA NOTES
  • Keegan Khan led the Wildcats with five goals on the day while Cory McManus and Eric Overbay each had two.
  • Will Vitton had seven saves for Villanova in the loss.
 
OF NOTE
  • The Hoyas earn a season sweep over the Wildcats, winning on the road 16-1, at home 8-7 and at a neutral site 14-12.
  • Georgetown has now won 11 games in 10 different seasons since achieving the feat for the first time in 1999.
  • TJ Haley broke the Georgetown record for assists in a season with 45, passing Greg McCavera's 41 in 1999.
 
NEXT FOR THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown will face top seed Denver in the BIG EAST Championship on Saturday, May 8 at 3 p.m. The winner will break a four-way tie between the Hoyas, Pioneers, Marquette and Syracuse for the most BIG EAST Tournament titles. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network with Brent Stover and Steve Panarelli calling the action.
