Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team won its third-straight league title, defeating Denver 10-9 in the finals of the 2021 BIG EAST Championship, Presented by JEEP on Saturday. The Hoyas are the only team in league history to win three tournament championships since the event was first held in 2012.
 
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS

• Dylan Hess led the Hoyas with three goals, Nicky Petkevich added two goals and an assist and Graham Bundy Jr. chipped in three assists.
• Declan McDermott and Dylan Watson both had two goals, TJ Haley dished out a pair of assists and Jake Carraway added a goal and an assist for the Blue & Gray.
• In goal, Owen McElroy collected 15 saves for his ninth double-digit save performance of the season and tied a team-high four ground balls.
• Defensively, the Hoyas were credited with nine caused turnovers including three by Joe LiCalzi to go with four ground balls. Georgetown also held the Pioneers to just .789 clearing on the day.

 
DENVER NOTES

• Jackson Morrill led the Pioneers with two goals and two assists while Ethan Walker added a pair of goals.
• Jack Thompson had 10 saves for Denver in the loss.

 
OF NOTE

• McElroy was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player after collecting 32 saves combined in the tournament.
• Hess, McDermott and Petkevich were each selected to the All-Tournament Team as well.
• The Hoyas are the only team to win three-consecutive BIG EAST tournaments and the only program to win three overall.
