WASHINGTON – Georgetown's University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced its executive board for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. The board features six student-athletes who will serve as the voices of the Georgetown student-athlete community.
"The SAAC Executive Board is made up of student-athletes who were selected by their peers for this formal leadership role, and it's a reflection of the confidence the student-athlete community has in their ability," said
Dr. Maya Ozery, Executive Director of the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program. "Our student-athletes faced many challenges this year, and SAAC has been an anchor of stability, empathy and connection among the student-athletes. Each of these students is passionate about the role SAAC can have in representing their teammates and peers, and I am confident they will work hard to engage and represent Hoya student-athletes' needs and interests.
"This is also an opportunity to thank Mary Pagano, Sari Cureton and Jessica Cusi for their dedication to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Mary, Sari, and Jessica have believed in the strength of the student-athlete community, and worked tirelessly during the most challenging year our community has faced. I believe the upcoming elected executive board will continue the positive momentum and lead SAAC forward."
