WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's lacrosse All-American
Jake Carraway and women's soccer standout
Jenna Menta have been named two of 22 2020-21 BIG EAST Male and Female Institutional Scholar-Athletes as announced by the league office. All institutional winners will receive a $2,000 scholarship to be used toward graduate or professional studies.
Jake Carraway – Men's Lacrosse
- Had an outstanding senior campaign being named a Senior CLASS Award Winner, USILA Second Team All-American, Inside Lacrosse Second Team Media All-American and USA Lacrosse Magazine Second Team All-American.
- Carraway was a 2021 Tewaaraton Award Finalist and unanimously chosen as the 2021 BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year and First Team All-BIG EAST.
- Selected 10th overall in the Premier Lacrosse League Collegiate Draft.
- Won the Georgetown Outstanding Achievement by a Male Athlete award.
- Named the BIG EAST Sport Excellence Award winner.
- Played in and started 15 games for the Hoyas scoring 51 goals and added 17 assists for 68 points.
- Carraway broke Georgetown's program records for career points (282) and goals (195).
- Was named the US Lacrosse National Player of the Week once this season and was selected to the USILA National Team of the Week twice.
- He earned his undergraduate degree in finance in 2020 from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and his master's in management in 2021.
- Carraway has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year since coming to the Hilltop in 2016.
Jenna Menta – Women's Soccer
- The BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and named All-BIG EAST First Team in 2020.
- Named the BIG EAST Sport Excellence Award winner.
- Led the BIG EAST in assists (8), and assists per game (0.57), while also ranking third in points (18) and fifth in goals (5).
- Scored a pair of game winners in the BIG EAST Championship as well as the NCAA Tournament.
- In three of her four seasons with the program, Menta recorded 10+ points; with her career total at 40.
- Was named United Soccer Coaches' College Player of the Week on March 24; the senior also earned a BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week nod on March 22.
- Earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Freshman team in 2017.
- Participated in Guiding Eyes for the Blind and The Grassroot Project.
- A four-year BIG EAST All-Academic honoree.
- Georgetown's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
- An international politics major with a minor in Italian who graduated in May 2021.
