WASHINGTON – Georgetown University was ranked No. 63 in the country in the Learfield Directors' Cup Division I Final standings, which were released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) on Friday. The Hoyas finished the year with 339.0 points. Georgetown is first among all BIG EAST Conference teams, and fourth among all non-FBS teams to sit among the top 18 percent in the nation.
The Hoyas were aided to their No. 63 standing by earning 73 points from the men's soccer team which advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals, while the women added 64 points making a trip to the NCAA second round after winning the BIG EAST Championship.
The women's cross country team contributed 38 points after winning the BIG EAST Championship, while the men added 30 points sending individual qualifiers to the NCAA Championship.
The men's basketball team added 25 points after winning the BIG EAST Conference with an impressive tournament run and earning the league's automatic NCAA Tournament berth.
Men's lacrosse pulled in 60 points advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the BIG EAST Championship. Rounding out the point scorers was men's outdoor track & field contributing 49 points following a 24th-place showing at the NCAA Championships.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. This is Georgetown's highest ranking since 2014-15.
