Hoyas to Battle No. 20/19 UConn in Storrs

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team (6-10, 0-5 BIG EAST) will hit the road to face No. 20/19 UConn (13-4, 4-2 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, January 25. Tipoff from Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS
  • Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network with Andrew Catalon calling the play-by-play, Pete Gillen providing analysis and Sherree Burruss on the sidelines.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Collin Holloway posted a career-high 25 points against No. 11 Villanova on Saturday, shooting 9-of-10 from the floor, 2-of-3 from distance and 5-of-6 from the line. The Hoya forward also posted a personal-best five assists with three boards.
  • Donald Carey tallied his 1,000th career point before finishing with 11 points and a season-best seven helpers while Dante Harris added 17 points, a squad-best six rebounds and a pair of assists. Aminu Mohammed rounded out those in double figures with 13 points to go along with five boards, two assists and a pair of steals.
  • The Hoyas shot 44.6 percent from the floor (25-66) while hitting 94.1 percent from the charity stripe (16-17).
  • Mohammed has registered six double-doubles (T-1st - BE, 5th - NCAA freshman) and 8.2 rpg (7th - NCAA freshmen).
  • Kaiden Rice is averaging 3.9 treys/game to lead the BE (5th - NCAA).
  • As a team, GU leads the BE shooting 37.8 percent from distance while its 8.3 triples/game rank third.
  • The Blue & Gray has five players averaging in double figures with Mohammed (13.6 ppg), Rice (13.3 ppg), Carey (13.3 ppg), Harris (12.9 ppg) and Holloway (10.1 ppg).
  • Carey is 35-for-37 from the free throw line for a 94.6 percent efficiency (1st - BE, 3rd - NCAA).
 
ABOUT THE HUSKIES
  • No. 20/19 UConn is riding a three-game winning streak after back-to-back victories against Butler last week.
  • R.J. Cole leads a trio of Huskies in double figures with 15.7 ppg (8th - BE) and a squad-best 4.6 apg (3rd - BE).
  • Adama Sanogo adds 15.6 ppg (9th - BE) on 53.8 percent shooting (85-158) and a team-best 8.5 rpg while Tyrese Martin chips in 14.2 ppg.
  • As a team, the Huskies have recorded 7.2 bpg (2nd - NCAA), 14.2 offensive boards per contest (6th - NCAA) and are outscoring the opposition by a 15.5-point margin.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Tuesday will be the 69th all-time meeting between GU and UConn with the Hoyas boasting a 36-32 overall record.
  • Georgetown also boasts a 28-23 mark in BIG EAST play against the Huskies.
  • GU has split its last six meetings with the Huskies while also holding a slight 7-5 edge over the last 12.
