Hoyas Finish 10th and 17th at Nuttycombe Invitational

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's cross country team earned a 10th-place finish and the men's team earned a 17th-place finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday. The No. 13 women's side tallied 310 points in the 6,000-meter race. The No. 28 men's squad totaled 457 points in the 8,000-meter race.

ON THE RECORD
"We managed an NCAA-caliber field fairly well. I think just about every runner felt they missed their best day by a bit, so finishing 10th in this field with a less-than-full line-up is a solid day. But to see two teams within seven points in front of us, both of whom passed us in the last third, we definitely feel some hunger from that. We'll take those facts, the momentum from really strong moments of pack racing, and the evidence of our scoring spread starting to narrow, and use all of that in our championship season preparation. We're excited to get home, rest, prepare, and bring back out a full line-up for Big East's in two weeks." - Cross Country/Track & Field Assistant Coach Mitchell Baker
