No. 17/11 Hoyas Hosts Marquette in Last Regular Season Home Fixture

WASHINGTON – The No. 17/11 Georgetown women's soccer team is set to host Marquette on Thursday, October 20 on Shaw Field with kickoff slated for 2 p.m. The Blue & Gray are 11-1-4 on the season and are unbeaten in conference play going 7-0-1. The Golden Eagles sit 7-6-2 overall, 3-3-1 in the BIG EAST.

  • Georgetown is coming off of its seventh league win on Sunday against Providence (1-0) on the road. 
  • Eliza Turner tabbed her first goal of the 2022 season for the game-winner over the Friars and earned herself BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for her combined efforts offensively and defensively for the Hoyas.
  • Julia Leas scored the game-winner over Villanova on Thursday in Georgetown's 1-0 win. 
  • Tatum Lenain tallied both the assists for the Blue & Gray on the weekend. 
  • Allie Augur played all 90 minutes in the net on Sunday while freshman Cara Martin played the full game against the Wildcats on Thursday. The two keepers have just earned their 11th-straight shutout for GU this season.

  • Sophomore Kate Gibson has 10 points on the year for Marquette from four goals and two assists.
  • Elsi Twombly has three goals and three assists while Isabella Cook has three goals and two assists. 
  • Mikki Easter and Chloe Olsen have shared time in the net for the Golden Eagles, earning three shutouts for the squad. 
  • Marquette is coming off a 1-0 win over Villanova on Sunday where Twomby scored the game-winning goal just 15 minutes into the match.
