WASHINGTON – Georgetown's Julia Leas and Allie Augur both earned BIG EAST awards as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Leas was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and Augur was named to the Honor Roll. The two helped Georgetown clinch their seventh-straight win on Sunday when they beat DePaul 1-0 on the road.
 
Julia Leas 

• The Virginia native scored Georgetown's lone goal on Sunday to beat the Blue Demons 1-0. Leas capitalized on an outside swinging corner by Maya Fernandez-Powell when she beat her defender to the ball and headed across the net to the top, left corner.
• Defensively, the senior helped the Blue & Gray go 2-0 on the week with wins over UConn and DePaul and helped the team earn two shutouts. 
• Over the two games this past week, Leas assisted in keeping the opponents to only five shots on goal cumulatively. 
• This is the second time this season Leas has been named Defensive Player of the week. Additionally she has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll two times.
• She has also been named to the 2022 Hermann Trophy Watch List. 

 
Allie Augur

• Augur made her third start to the season against UConn on Thursday after coming back from an injury earlier in the season. 
• Augur posted four saves against the Huskies with one being blasted at the net from just outside the six by the UConn attack forcing the keeper to make the quick save. 
• The senior has tabbed shutouts in all three of her appearances this season. 
• The Connecticut native was named Preseason BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

 
What Lies Ahead

• Georgetown hosts Xavier on Thursday, October 6 at 3 p.m. on Shaw Field followed by Senior Day on Sunday, October 9 at 1 p.m. against Seton Hall.
