Women's Rowing Captures Four First Place Finishes at the Head of the Occoquan

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's rowing team closed out the fall season at the Head of the Occoquan and the Princeton Chase over the weekend. The openweight team collected four first-place finishes as well as two second-place finishes in Fairfax Station at the Head of the Occoquan. The lightweight squad sent two 8+ boats up north to race in the Princeton Chase.
 
 
Head of the Occoquan Results:
 
  • Georgetown's Varsity 8+ boat captured a first-place victory out of 11 boats with a time of 18:31.16. The Hoyas finished 29 seconds faster than the second-place West Virginia University boat.
  • In the Junior Varsity 8+ race, Georgetown took first and second place out of five. The first-place boat finished with a time of 19:02.36 while the second-place boat finished with a time of 19:49.97.
  • The Hoyas took home another first-place finish out of 15 boats in the Varsity 4+. Georgetown finished at the top of the podium with a time of 20:56.75.
  • In the Junior Varsity 4+ race, Georgetown conquered the podium again with the top two finishes out of 10. The Hoyas' first-place boat finished with a time of 21:38.04 while the second-place boat finished with a time of 21:54.15.
  • The Hoyas also received a sixth-place finish out of 17 boats in the Novice 4+ race. The Hoyas finished with a time of 25:15.78.
 
Princeton Chase Results:
  • In the 8+ race, Georgetown finished 34th 54th out of 59 with a time of 17:13.079 and 18:03.868.
