WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's soccer's Julia Leas was named to United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division I All-America First Team on Friday afternoon. Only 46 Division I women's soccer players received the All-America nod. This is the senior's first time receiving this honor and the third award of the week for her as well.Â
Leas was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and named the Preseason BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. The Virginian was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team and earned the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the BIG EAST Championship. The defender was awarded BIG EAST Defender of the Year and to the All-BIG EAST First Team as well as All-East Region First Team honors. Leas was named the BIG EAST's Defensive Player of the Week three times and to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll twice. She scored three goals and tallied four assists over her 22 starts. Leas was also named to College Sports Communicator's 2022 Academic All-District Team. On Wednesday, she was named to United Soccer Coaches' 2022 All-America First Team as well as being named as a semifinalist for the 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy.Â
