Hoyas Play Creighton in Back-to-Back Games

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team (6-16, 0-11 BIG EAST) will return to the District to take on the Creighton University Bluejays (14-8, 6-5 BIG EAST) at Capital One Arena on Saturday, February 12. Tipoff is scheduled for noon. Both teams will then travel to Omaha for a rematch on Monday, February 14 at the CHI Health Center. Tipoff for Monday's matchup is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on FS1 with Tom Werme calling the play-by-play and Dickey Simpkins providing analysis.
The game can be heard locally on The Team 980, SiriusXM 380 and Radio.com with Rich Chvotkin in his 48th season on the call.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

Kaiden Rice scored his 1,500th career point at DePaul while recording his ninth game with at least five triples (8-13) and fifth contest with at least 20 points (24). Aminu Mohammed added 16 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.
Donald Carey rounded out Hoya scorers in double figures with 12 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals. Dante Harris recorded eight assists, matching a career high set against Seton Hall (02/20/21).
As a team, the Blue & Gray shot 44.4% (12-27) from deep and outscored DePaul off turnovers (21-16). Georgetown also tallied 37 points off the bench, the most in any game this season.
The Blue & Gray has four players averaging in double figures: Mohammed (13.7 ppg), Carey (13.5 ppg), Rice (13.0 ppg) and Harris (11.2 ppg).
As a team, GU paces the BE shooting 36.6% from distance while its 8.1 triples/game rank third.
Carey has recorded 11-straight games in double figures, averaging 14.5 ppg on 44.7% shooting (51-114) and 41.8% from distance (28-67) over that span.
Rice leads the BE with 3.8 treys/game (5th - NCAA) and has hit 80 triples (T-8th - NCAA).
In conference play, Carey is averaging 14.6 ppg, followed by Mohammed (12.7 ppg) and Rice (11.6 ppg).

ABOUT THE BLUEJAYS

Creighton has split its last four games, picking up wins over Butler and No. 17 UConn.
Ryan Hawkins and Alex O'Connell lead four scorers in double figures with 12.7 and 12.2 ppg, respectively. O'Connell paces the team in conference matchups with 13.1 ppg.
The Bluejays are shot suppressors, holding the opposition to 39.4% shooting from the floor while allowing just 65.5 ppg.

ABOUT THE MATCHUP

Saturday will be the 20th all-time meeting between GU and Creighton with the Bluejays holding a slight 10-9 edge overall.
The Blue & Gray also holds a 5-3 record at home against Creighton.
GU has split its last six contests with the Bluejays, with the Hoyas winning two of their three matchups in 2021. Georgetown's most recent victory came in the BIG EAST Championship game, blowing out the Bluejays 73-48 for its eighth conference title. Chudier Bile led four scorers in double figures with 19 points while Harris turned in 10 points, eight boards and five assists before earning the Dave Gavitt Trophy for Most Outstanding Player in the tournament.
The last time the Hoyas played a conference opponent in back-to-back games was during the 2020-21 season when it faced St. John's at home on Sunday, Dec. 13 (W, 97-94 ;[ot]) and then on the road on Sunday, Dec. 20 (L, 94-83).
