Box Score 2 Madeira Beach, Fla. – Georgetown softball closed out THE Spring Games on a high Sunday afternoon as it took down Long Island 4-2 at ROC Park in Madeira Beach, Florida. The Hoyas played their first game of the day against Central Michigan where CM went up five runs to GU's one. Today's games concluded the six-game tournament as the Hoyas return to Washington after going 2-4 on the weekend. The Blue & Gray are now 9-11 on the season.
vs. Central Michigan
- Mae Forshey scored for the Hoyas when she hit a ball to left field and Alyssa Chavez rounded third to cross home (1-0).
- The Chips scored runs in the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to earn five runs and closed the game out at 5-1.
vs. Long Island
- Forshey led the lineup for the Hoyas and hit a homer over the right field fence (1-0).
- Just two batters later, Chavez hit the Hoyas second home run of the day (2-0).
- Angelina Reno doubled to left field and Ciara Granado advanced over home plate (2-1).
- Chavez singled, advancing Savannah Jones to second and Cameron Kondo home (3-1).
- Cassie Henning hit a ball into right field allowing Jones to score another run for GU (4-1).
- In the fifth, LIU was able to add an extra run to its score from a ball flied-out to left field, but it was not enough to match the Hoyas' four runs (4-2).
