Georgetown Falls to St. John’s in Tight Game

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown softball team fell 2-0 to St. John's this afternoon in a close game between the two sides. The Hoyas are now 13-26 overall and 3-14 in the BIG EAST and the Red Storm are now 11-31 overall and 5-14 in conference play. 

 

How It Happened

  • Julia Parker led the Hoyas from the circle, striking out three Red Storm players in the first and second to allow no runs against. 

  • St. John's hit a ground out in the third, but the third base runner was able to cross home to make it 1-0.

  • SJU doubled their runs in the fifth with a double to right to get another player across the plate (2-0).

  • Georgetown fought hard to equal the score when they loaded the bases in the sixth, but was unable to get the final hit and the game finished 2-0 to St. John's.

Georgetown and St. John's face each other again tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Nationals Youth Academy.
