WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Athletics has officially unveiled
The Hoya Blueprint Exchange in its partnership with INFLCR+ Local Exchange as the newest element of GU's The Blueprint program for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) business opportunities for student-athletes. The Blueprint Exchange utilizes INFLCR's technology to connect student-athletes with business opportunities through a customized portal.
"Over the past year, we have educated our student-athletes on emerging NIL opportunities and worked with them to ensure they are building their brands effectively. The Hoya Blueprint Exchange will take this a step further by expanding student-athlete reach, and allowing them to work directly with businesses within the confines of a space built specifically for intercollegiate athletics success," said Georgetown University Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Lee Reed.
The Blueprint Exchange is the home for all NIL information, education, opportunities and reporting. Members of the business community are now able to partner directly with student-athletes on brand-focused activities, provided they are within legal protocols, follow the Georgetown University NIL protocols and are approved in advance by members of GU's compliance department. Examples of NIL activities include autographs, promoting brands on social media, third-party media endorsements, running camps or clinics, providing private sport lessons, personal appearances and more.
"INFLCR has been powering Georgetown's brand building & content management tools since 2019, so we're excited to expand this partnership even further into the NIL space with the Blueprint Exchange. Georgetown's The Blueprint NIL program will now provide one place to put NIL education into practice where student-athletes can connect with businesses, review contracts, receive payments and report all NIL activity," said INFLCR Founder Jim Cavale.
The Blueprint Exchange will empower student-athletes to be personal business entities through a personalized and adaptive learning experience. Overall, The Blueprint is designed to build lifelong skills that help now and in the future as student-athletes represent themselves or work with outside representation.
Georgetown is committed to educating student-athletes on their NIL rights and offering a comprehensive educational program to serve as a roadmap for student-athletes looking to take advantage of new opportunities. This includes partnerships with industry leaders such as INFLCR, educational opportunities through Georgetown's McDonough School of Business and the School of Continuing Studies as well as building assets with photo and video shoots.
