WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming & diving team put forth a solid performance in its season opener at the Potomac Relays on Friday afternoon, medaling in 17 of 18 events and picking up four wins with nine second-place marks.
 
"I thought we raced well all afternoon with a lot of positive takeaways, but there's still a long way to go. The most important thing was getting back in the pool and facing really good competition. It had been a long time since our last meet and it felt good to get our team back in the water." Head Coach Jack Leavitt said following Friday's meet
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Samantha Hagberg, Angelica Reali and Genevieve Youngman picked up the first Hoya win on the day with a women's 300-yard fly time of 2:52.16.
• Alex Breuer, Erin Hood, Samantha Kim captured the women's second victory of the day with a 2:43.07 time in the 300-yard breast. 
• Freshmen Sophia Ribeiro and Ashley Vensel picked up the Hoyas final win of the afternoon with a 10:16.73 time in the women's 1,000-yard free. 
• Wynter Bramao and Lizzy Durgin went 1-2 in both diving events, being separated by .35 points in the 1m (236.75 - 236.40) and 3.25 points in the 3m (234.70 - 231.45). Emilie Ginovker rounded out the Hoya podium sweep in the 1m with a score of 233.40.
• The Hoyas picked up silver medal marks in the 200-yard free, 300-yard back and 400-yard medley.

 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Bailey DeLuise, Tomo Nozaki, Nick Pezzella earned a first-place mark in the 300-yard breast, logging a time of 2:52.74.
• Joseph Hofman (289.20), Hriday Parekh (285.05) and Charlie Reichle (274.25) swept the 1m podium.
• The trio of Reichle (271.85), Kyle Maziarz (265.50) and Parekh (256.10) finished atop the 3m leaderboard.
• Georgetown picked up second-place finishes in the 300-yard back, 400-yard medley, 500-yard free, 800-yard free and 1,000-yard free.
