Women’s Tennis Splits Sites at the Navy Invitational and the Bedford Cup

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's tennis team will be participating in the Navy Invitational and the Bedford Cup this weekend. Senior Agata Mikos, junior Avantika Willy and sophomore McHaley Ho will compete at Navy and senior Oliva Ashton, junior Morgan Coburn, and freshmen Paige Gilbert and Ashley Kennedy will compete in the Bedford Cup.

At the Navy Invitational, the Hoyas will compete in two out of the four singles draws. Mikos and Ho will compete together in the doubles draw and Willy will team up with Alisia Manolescu from William & Mary. The schools participating in the tournament are Fairleigh Dickinson, UNCW, Villanova, and William & Mary.

The Hoyas will compete in four of the seven singles draws at the Bedford Cup. In the doubles draw, Ashton will be paired with Coburn and Gilbert will play with Kennedy. The schools participating in the tournament are George Washington, Richmond, Howard, George Mason, Maryland, Coppin State, Morgan State, and Towson.

"Our women's team is going to compete at two events this weekend," said Head Coach Freddy Mesmer. "It will be a great opportunity for them to get a lot of match play in and continue to build on everything we've worked on so far this fall."
