Hoyas Announce 2022-23 Men’s Basketball BIG EAST Conference Schedule Presented by MedStar Health

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team has announced the BIG EAST Conference portion of its 2022-23 schedule, presented by MedStar Health. The Blue & Gray has added the standard 20 league contests to its 11-game nonconference slate for a total of 31 this season.

For the 20-game conference slate, Georgetown will be broadcast nationally on FOX for its January 16 matchup at Villanova on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as well as the final home contest of 2022 on February 26 against Providence at Capital One Arena. GU will also be featured in 13 games on FS1, four on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) and one contest on FS2.

  • The Hoyas will open the conference slate with a home contest against Xavier on December 16 with a 6:30 p.m. tip (FS1). 
  • Georgetown will head to Connecticut for a 6:30 p.m. date with the Huskies on December 20 (FS1).
  • Following an eight-day holiday layoff, the Hoyas will remain on the road for a December 29 showdown with DePaul at Wintrust Arena beginning at 8 p.m. (FS2).
  • The Blue & Gray will ring in the New Year with back-to-back contests at Capital One Arena against Butler (Jan. 1, 2023) and Villanova (Jan. 4) with both contests slated for a 6:30 p.m. tip on FS1.
  • After a date with Marquette at Fiserv Forum on January 7 at 2 p.m. (FS1), GU will return to the District to face Seton Hall on January 10 for an 8:30 p.m. game (FS1) before a five-day hiatus.
  • Georgetown will hit the road for two-straight contests, facing Villanova at noon on Jan. 16 (FOX) before heading to Xavier on January 21 for a noon contest (FS1). 
  • GU will return to the District on January 24 to square off with DePaul at Capital One Arena with the game time to be determined (FS1). 
  • The Hoyas will then head to The World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, to face St. John's on January 29 with tip slated for 2 p.m. (FS1). 
  • Georgetown will return home for two contests, welcoming Creighton on February 1 for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff (CBSSN) and UConn on February 4 at noon (FS1).
  • GU will then travel for three of its next four games, facing Providence at the Amica Mutual Pavilion (Feb. 8 / CBSSN / 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.), followed by a home contest against Marquette (Feb. 11 / FS1 / noon) and back-to-back road games against Seton Hall (Feb. 14 / CBSSN / 6 p.m.) and Butler (Feb. 19 / FS1 / 3 p.m.).
  • After its home contest with the Johnnies on February 22 (CBSSN / 8:30 p.m. or 9 p.m.), Georgetown will host the Friars in its final home game of 2022 on February 26 at 12:30 p.m. (FOX).
  • The Hoyas will wrap up the 2022-23 slate in Omaha, Nebraska, facing Creighton on March 1 with tip slated for 8:30 p.m. (FS1).
  • The BIG EAST Tournament Presented by JEEP will be played at Madison Square Garden for the 41st-consecutive year. It is the longest running postseason championship in college basketball at the same venue and games are slated for March 8-11.
