Georgetown Travels to Villanova on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Pennsylvania to face the Villanova University Wildcats on Wednesday at the Finneran Pavilion in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. The opening tip is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Nick Mantegna, Lisa Roman and Christine Motta calling the action.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (8-6, 1-4 BIG EAST) fell 68-48 to the then-No. 25/24 St. John's University Red Storm in a New Year's Eve showdown on Saturday.
  • Junior captain Kelsey Ransom led the way with 13 points as the lone Hoya in double figures. She also managed team bests in rebounds, assists and blocks.
  • The Hoyas shot 31.6% (18-57) from the field, while allowing 41.5% (22-53) shooting by the Red Storm.
  • Georgetown forced 18 turnovers on 10 steals, but was outrebounded by SJU 43-32.
  • Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy is the BIG EAST's top scoring freshman at 11.1 points per game and also ranks third among all BIG EAST players this season with her 2.5 steals per game average.
  • Ransom is leading the Hoyas in scoring and ranks 21st in the BIG EAST with 11.8 ppg as well as team bests in assists (54) and steals (38). She also averages 6.8 rpg which leads the Blue & Gray and ranks 11th in the league

  • Maddy Siegrist was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after a solid week.
  • Siegrist was top five in scoring and rebounding in the BIG EAST last week, averaging 28.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting .524 from the field in a 2-0 road swing; 35 points at Xavier on Sunday to take over the top spot as the nation's leading scorer at 28.0 points per game.
