WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Sophie Towne was named to the BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. She led the Hoyas in scoring over the weekend.
 
Towne paced the Hoya offense with two goals and two assists for six points in both of Georgetown's games over the weekend. In a 3-2 BIG EAST loss to visiting Quinnipiac, she tallied a goal and an assist for the Blue & Gray. In a 3-2 loss to Saint Francis (Pa.) in nonconference play, she added another goal and assist.
 
Towne's six points double her season total.
 
The Hoyas next head to Norfolk, Virginia to face Old Dominion in BIG EAST play on Friday, September 6 at 5 p.m.
