Hoyas Travel to Face Old Dominion, William & Mary

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team hits the road for a pair of games this weekend, traveling to face Old Dominion and William & Mary. The Hoyas take on the Monarchs on Friday evening in BIG EAST action before facing the Tribe on Sunday morning.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is 1-10 (0-3) on the year following a pair of close 3-2 losses to Quinnipiac and Saint Francis (Pa.) last weekend.
  • Sophie Towne paced the Hoyas over the weekend with two goals and two assists, earning her a spot in the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • On the season, Vivienne Trumpbour leads the Hoyas with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Towne has four goals and four assists for 12 points while Lois Lekawael adds a pair of goals as well.
  • Ella Fahey has started the last three games in goal, collecting a combined 39 goals in that span. She has a 3.50 goals-against average to go with a .759 save percentage this year.
Scouting Old Dominion
  • Friday's game against the Monarch's is set for 5 p.m. in Norfolk, Virginia.
  • Georgetown's Head Coach, Christy Longacre Banks, was a standout player at ODU and a two-time All-American in 2012 and 2013.
  • Old Dominion is 5-5 on the year and 2-1 in BIG EAST play.
  • Marlon de Bruijne leads ODU with seven goals and one assist for 15 points while Sanci Molkenboer adds five goals and an assist for 11 points on the year.
  • In goal, Suus Broers owns a 1.15 GAA with 29 saves and a .725 save percentage.
Scouting William & Mary
  • Sunday's action against the Tribe begins at 11 a.m.
  • William & Mary is 4-5 on the year with three losses to nationally-ranked opponents.
  • The Tribe plays Hofstra on Friday before hosting the Hoyas.
  • Pyper Friedman leads W&M with four goals and three assists for 11 points while both Lauren Curran and Audrey Domovich have three goals and an assist for seven points.
  • In goal, Maddie George has a 2.30 GAA to go with 29 saves and a .592 save percentage.

The Hoyas return home to host BIG EAST foe Temple on Friday, October 13 at the TU Field Hockey Complex in Towson, Maryland.
