No. 12/16 Georgetown Draws Seton Hall 1-1

WASHINGTON – The No. 12/16 Hoyas drew Seton Hall 1-1 on Sunday afternoon. With the draw, the Hoyas move to 7-1-6 on the season and 3-0-3 in BIG EAST play while SHU moves to 6-5-3 on the season and 2-2-2 in conference action.

Head Coach Dave Nolan
"This was a disappointing result for us today. We knew it was going to be a tricky game and Seton Hall is much improved under Coach Josh Osit and they have picked up some good results in the past couple of weeks. We knew it would be a tough game here, but we felt we had a game plan that we wanted to implement, and we really needed to get the first goal but were unable to do that today. Not being able to do that in the first half gave them great belief and it kept them hanging around and then out of nowhere they scored to go up 1-0. That gave them double reinforcement in what they were trying to do and how they were trying to stop us. It was a soft goal from our point of view, and it is something we talked about at halftime, having numbers around 21 for them. We backed off of her and let her pull the trigger and she scored and now they have something to defend. They made it really difficult for us and put numbers behind the ball and they did a good job of wasting time when needed and they committed smart fouls all within the spirit of the game in moments where we tried to get things moving. Thankfully we managed to get a really good goal from Henley Tippins late to get us a point out of the game which is probably all we deserved. We were not clinical enough and didn't create enough chances against a team that was obviously happy to sit back and try and counter and they almost got away with it. We have to learn from this and we have to move on to Thursday as a tough Villanova team comes to town. We have to take care of business at home this week with two games at Shaw Field."
