WASHINGTON – The second seeded Georgetown University women's soccer team is set to face the UConn Huskies in the BIG EAST Semifinal on Thursday, November 2 at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. GU enters the contest with a 10-1-7 record (6-0-4 BE) while the Huskies enter the match with a 10-3-5 record (6-1-3 BE).

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- In the Hoyas final regular season contest, GU came from behind to defeat the Butler Bulldogs 4-2 after trailing 2-0 early in the contest.
- Grace Sherman, Brianne Riley, Eliza Turner and Shay Montgomery were the four goal scorers for GU and Allie Augur picked up her tenth win of the season in goal for GU.
- Six Hoyas earned BIG EAST Postseason Honors this week. Julia Leas was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season.
- Leas, Augur, Turner and Natalie Means all earned a nod to the first team. Riley was tabbed as a second team selection and Allie Winstanley was a third team honoree.
- Leas will tie the school record for most appearances as a Hoya on Thursday evening with 97 all-time. She will tie former Hoya Kelly Ann Livingstone at 97 and can move to first all-time if the Hoyas were to advance to the BIG EAST Championship on Sunday.
ABOUT UCONN
- The Huskies enter the contest with a 10-3-5 record (6-1-3 BE) after closing out the regular season with a 2-0 win over Seton Hall.
- In the BIG EAST Quarterfinals, UConn downed Butler 3-2 in Storrs, Connecticut behind goals from Jessica Mazo, Chioma Okafor who had two tallies for the Huskies.
- Okafor paces the UConn offense with six goals and three assists on the season, good for 15 points.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Georgetown and UConn have met 19 times before and UConn holds the all-time series lead 12-6-1.
- The last time the two sides met was earlier this season in a 0-0 draw at Shaw Field.
- In 2022, GU downed the Huskies 1-0 behind a goal from Claire Manning in the 26th minute.
