Swimming & Diving Captures Win Over Johns Hopkins

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's and women's swimming & diving team captured a win on the road against Johns Hopkins University on Saturday afternoon. The men's team won 163-99 while the women earned a 152-110 victory. 

ON THE RECORD
"We really missed having our divers with us today but the swimmers really stepped up. We've competed every weekend since the end of September and the group keeps improving and learning meet to meet. We're excited to get a quick rest and compete at our invite next week."- said Head Coach Jack Leavitt on today's meet.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS 
  • In the 200 yard medley relay, Trenton Burr, Bailey De Luise, Nate Lamers and Connor Brennan earned first place with a time of 1:33.39.
  • Connor Jellig (1:43.18), William Connolly (1:44.50) and Max Larock (1:46.50) went first, second and third, respectively in the 200 free. 
  • Liam Ryan captured first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.34
  • De Luise earned two more first-place finishes against Johns Hopkins with a time of 57.64 in the 100 breaststroke and 47.61 in the 100 free. 
  • In the 200 butterfly, Gabe Gonda placed first with a time of 1:54.60.
  • Shaun Kronenwetter took first place in the 50 free with a time of 20.90.
  • Jack Brearton picked up two first-place victories in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:06.63 and 200 IM with a time of 1:53.35.
  • Kronenwetter, De Luise, Brennan and Grant Closson closed off the meet with a first place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:23.10

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the 200 yard medley relay, Cali Oyerly, Erin Hood, Genevieve Youngman and Madeline Malone took first with a time of 1:46.26
  • Sophia Ribeiro captured another win in the 1000 free with a time of 10:29.90
  • Oyerly and Maddie Haley took first and second in the 100 backstroke with times of 57.69 and 58.97, respectively.
  • In the 100 breaststroke, Angelica Reali picked up another first place finish with a time of 1:07.42
  • With a time of 2:08.73, Sammy Hagberg earned a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly.
  • Madeline Malone grabbed another first place finish against the Blue Jays with a time of 52.20 in the 100 free. 
  • With a time of 1:06.70 in the 200 backstroke, Allie Sanchez picked up a first place finish.
  • Alex Breuer placed first with a time of 2:21.95 in the 200 breaststroke. 
  • Youngman captured first in the 100 fly with a time of 57.68
  • In the 200 IM, Reali placed first with a time of 2:08.33.
