WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team welcomes the Jackson State University Tigers to the District on Saturday, November 25 with tipoff scheduled for noon at Capital One Arena. The Hoyas are coming off a pair of wins in as many days as part of the Georgetown MTE, defeating Mount St. Mary's 83-72 on Saturday, November 18 and American 88-83 in overtime on Sunday, November 19 before taking the week off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Georgetown enters the contest at 3-2 while Jackson State is coming into the game at 1-5 on the season.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- The Hoyas enter the game at 3-2 following back-to-back wins against Mount St. Mary's (83-72) and American (88-83 [ot]) as part of the Georgetown MTE.
- For his efforts over the week, Dontrez Styles was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. In a 2-1 week for the Blue & Gray, Styles led the Hoyas averaging 21.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in 38.3 minutes per game. He went 20-for-40 from the floor (50.0%), including a 7-for-17 (412%) from beyond the arc. He scored a career-high 26 points against Mount St. Mary's. The junior managed his second double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 boards against American. In the pair of home games, Styles tallied 48 points, 19 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and committed zero turnovers. It was the first nod to the honor roll for Styles, in his first season in the BIG EAST Conference.
- Against AU, Jayden Epps poured in a career-best 31 points, including the last 14 for the Hoyas in regulation, to force extra minutes and secure the 88-83 overtime win. Epps led a quartet of Hoyas in double figures as he tallied a career-best 31 points on 11-for-22 shooting from the floor while tallying six 3-pointers.
- Styles added 22 points and also tallied a team-best 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Rowan Brumbaugh put up 13 points while also adding four rebounds and a squad-best three steals. Supreme Cook rounded out those in double figures with 10 points. Epps and Brumbaugh paced the offense with four assists apiece.
- Georgetown shot 49.2% (30-for-61) for the game and 35.7% (10-for-28) from downtown. They allowed 46.8% (29-62) shooting from the Eagles and didn't allow a triple from AU in overtime despite five attempts. The Eagles held the edge on the glass, outrebounding GU 38-32.
- Styles leads a quintet of Hoyas in double-figure scoring, averaging 17.0 ppg, followed by Epps (16.8), Cook (12.0), Brumbaugh (11.6) and Jay Heath (10.2). Styles and Epps rank second and third, respectively, in the BIG EAST in scoring early in the season.
- Cook is GU's leader on the boards, grabbing 8.2 rpg, followed by Styles at 7.6 rpg. Cook currently ranks fourth in the league in rebounding while Epps' 5.0 apg is a squad best and ranks fourth in the conference.
- The Hoyas are led by Ed Cooley who is in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach and his first season with Georgetown. In 2022, Cooley was the recipient of the Naismith Coach of the Year Award, named the Sporting News Coach of the Year, the BIG EAST Coach of the Year, the NABC District 5 Coach of the Year and the USBWA District 1 Coach of the Year.

- Jackson State enters the game at 1-5, opening the season with five-straight road setbacks before stunning Missouri on the road with a 73-72 win over the Tigers at Mizzou Arena.
- The Jackson State men's basketball team stunned SEC foe Missouri with a 73-72 win. Chase Adams knocked down a shot with only three seconds left to lead the Tigers past Missouri at Mizzou Arena. Ken Evans had 20 points and three steals to lead the Tigers, with three players scoring in double figures. Jordan O'Neal added 18 points and two steals, and Coltie Young chipped in with 14 points and two steals.
- Zeke Cook pulled down eight boards to lead the squad while Adams' five helpers paced the offense.
- The Jackson State defense forced 18 Missouri turnovers and converted them into 26 points on the other end of the floor.
- The win over Missouri was Jackson State's first win over an SEC opponent since 1995, when they defeated LSU 87-76 on the road.
- Evans leads a pair of Tigers in double figures, averaging 18.5 points per game followed by O'Neal with 10.2 ppg.
- Cook's 5.2 rebounds per game is a team best while Adams' 3.5 apg paces the offense.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Mo Williams, in his second season at Jackson State.
- On Williams' staff is former Hoya Tyler Adams (2011-15). Adams was a four-year member with the men's basketball program. He appeared in four games before it was discovered he had a heart ailment that sidelined him for his career. He spent the first two years on the squad and his junior and senior seasons were in a manager role. On Senior Day 2015, the men's basketball team, in conjunction with the compliance department, applied for a waiver from the NCAA to have Adams appear in the game briefly. He started and appeared in the first play to score his first and only collegiate points.
ABOUT THE SERIES WITH THE TIGERS
- Georgetown and Jackson State have meant one time before, on January 2, 1991, a 78-54 Hoya win.
- In the only meeting, a game held at the Capital Centre, Dikembe Mutombo scored a career-high 34 points, connecting on 13-of-16 field goals and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line, to go along with 10 rebounds for the double-double in 33 minutes of action. Charles Harrison added 18 points as the duo in double figures. Mutombo added six rejections in the contest.
