WASHINGTON – For the second-consecutive week, a Georgetown men's basketball player was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll as sophomore
Jayden Epps earned the nod, as announced by the league office in New York on Monday. It is the second honor roll nod of the season for the Blue & Gray and the first of his career for the Norfolk, Virginia native.
JAYDEN EPPS (SOPHOMORE / GUARD/FORWARD / 6-2 / 187)
- In a 1-0 week for Georgetown, Epps poured in a career-high 34 points to help the Hoyas outlast Jackson State, 88-81. His efforts included a 7-for-9 performance from deep.
- It was the second-consecutive career high game for the GU guard as he tallied a then-career-high 31 points in an 88-83 overtime win against American, including the last 14 points for the Hoyas in regulation.
- It marked back-to-back 30+ point games for the Norfolk native, a feat no Hoya has achieved since Austin Freeman in 2010.
- His 19.7 points per game tops and 3.5 3-pointers made per game both top the BIG EAST Conference while his 4.8 assists per game ranks fourth in the league.
- This is the first nod to the honor roll for Epps, in his first season in the BIG EAST Conference.
