WASHINGTON – Georgetown women's soccer's
Julia Leas was named to the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division I All-America First Team on Friday afternoon. Only 46 Division I women's soccer players were tabbed as All-America selections. This is the second-consecutive season that Leas has earned a nod to the All-America First Team.
Leas was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team and was named the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. The Virginia native was selected as the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season for the second-consecutive year. The graduate student was also named to the All-BIG EAST First Team as well as being selected to the All-East Region First Team.
This was the third time Leas won a major conference award as she won BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year in 2021. Leas tallied one goal and one assist across her 21 starts this season. She also set a program record for most consecutive starts in program history with 90 and most appearances in program history with 100. Leas was also named to the College Sports Communicator's 2023 Academic All-District Team as well as being named a semifinalist for the 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy.
