Eleven Hoyas Selected to 2023 Phil Steele FCS All-Patriot League Teams, Three Hoyas Named Phil Steele Freshman All-Americans

WASHINGTON – Eleven Georgetown University football players captured 12 spots on the 2023 Phil Steele FCS All-Patriot League Teams while three freshmen claimed spots on the 2023 Phil Steele FCS Freshman All-American Teams. 

As a team, the Hoyas earned one first-team selection, six second-team honors and five third-team placements. 

Jimmy Kibble -  First Team: WR
  • Saw action in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
  • Kibble set a new program record for longest reception of 95 yards against Bucknell.
  • Led the GU receivers with 753 yards on 33 catches and eight touchdowns.
  • Earned a Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention after his performance in the overtime victory at Bucknell.
  • Name to the All-Patriot League Offense Second Team. 

Nicholas Dunneman - Second Team: WR | Special Teams Second Team: PR
  • Was named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in the first game of the season against Marist and earned a Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention for his efforts against Colgate.
  • Played in all 11 games for the Blue & Gray.
  • Made 70 catches for 706 yards and four touchdowns.
  • Recorded 18 punt returns for 188 yards. 
  • Named to All-Patriot League Offense Second Team as a wide receiver and return specialist. 

Joshua Stakely - Second Team: RB
  • Played in all 11 games for the Blue & Gray.
  • Earned three Weekly Honorable Mention awards. 
  • Finished the season at sixth in the Patriot League with 127 rushes for 635 yards and six touchdowns.
  • Stakely recorded a season high longest rush of 46 yards against Stonehill.
  • The graduate student also made 35 receptions for 251 yards and five touchdowns.
  • Named to All-Patriot League Offense Second Team.

Luke Popma - Second Team: OL
  • Played in all 11 games for the Blue & Gray this season. 

Mateen Ibirogba - Second Team: DL
  • Played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
  • Totaled 29 tackles (18 solo, 11 assists), 5.5 tackles for a loss of 18 yards, one fumble recovery and four quarterback hits. 
  • Was named to the Patriot League Preseason All-League team at the start of the 2023 season.
  • Named to All-Patriot League Defensive First Team.

Jaden Dugger - Second Team: DB
  • Earned a Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention after his performance in the first game of the season against Marist. 
  • Played in all 11 games for GU. 
  • Totaled 43 tackles (27 solo, 16 assists), four tackles for a loss of 27 yards, three sacks, one forced fumble, nine pass breakups and two interceptions. 
  • Named to All-Patriot League Defensive Second Team

Zeraun Daniel - Third Team: DB | Freshman All-American Fourth Team 
  • Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week (10/16) after his pivotal performance in GU's win over Lehigh.
  • Totaled 51 tackles (38 solo, 13 assists), two interceptions, one quarterback hurry and four broken up passes. 

Rashon Adams Jr. - Third Team: DB
  • Saw action in all 11 games for the Hoyas. 
  • Totaled 33 tackles (23 solo, 10 assists), one fumble recovery, five broken up passes and three interceptions returned for 38 yards. 
  • Named to All-Patriot League Defensive Second Team.

David Ealey III - Third Team: LB
  • Saw action in all 11 games for Georgetown. 
  • Totaled 68 tackles (43 solo, 25 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, two interceptions and four quarterback hurries. 

Isaiah Grimes - Third Team: Tight End | Freshman All-American Fourth Team
  •  As a freshmen saw action in 10 games for the Hoyas. 
  • Totaled 30 receptions for 266 yards including two touchdown catches. 
  • Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his performance in GU's upset victory over No. 15 Fordham. 

Sebastain Alonso - Special Teams Third Team: LS
  • Played in all 11 games for the Blue & Gray this season. 

GianCarlo Rufo - Freshman All-American Fourth Team 
  • As a freshmen saw action in 10 games for the Hoyas. 
  • Totaled 38 tackles (27 solo, 11 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and four quarterback hurries.
