Women’s Golf Heads to Atlantic Invitational on Monday and Tuesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team continues the spring season as the squad travels to Boynton Beach, Florida to compete at the Atlantic Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, February 20-21 at the Indian Spring Golf Club. The Hoyas will compete on a par-71, 5,840-yard course against 11 other teams.

  • The teams will get through Rounds 1 and 2 on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.The Hoyas will tee off from holes 6-10 in the first round. After a break for lunch, the teams will open the second round at 1 p.m. with the Hoyas starting on the same holes. Round 3 will occur on Tuesday.
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Hoya lineup: Gabriella Gilrowski, Megan Gormley, Kaitlyn Lees, Lauren May, Esther Park
  • The Hoyas are coming off a 16th-place showing at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge hosted by Ohio State University at Palos Verdes Golf Club on February 12-14. The field featured 10 teams ranked among the top 25.
  • Girlowski was the top finisher at 12-over 225 (77-72-76). Her second round was the best round for the Blue & Gray on the West Coast in all rounds.
  • Megan Gormley was just a stroke behind Gilrowski at 13-over 226 (75-74-77). The junior tallied five birdies over the three-round tournament.
  • Kaitlyn Lees had a strong third round for the Blue & Gray in Palos Verdes Estates, California, as the graduate student moved up six spots to finish 19-over 232 (74-83-75).
  • Last week, Lauren May finished the tournament with a three-round score of 24-over 237 (77-78-82).
  • Esther Park will be making her debut for the Blue & Gray this year. Last year she tied for 10th place at the BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships with Lees, helping the Hoyas place second overall. The senior competed in seven tournaments during the 2021-22 season, averaging 78.81 strokes over 21 rounds.

  • The Atlantic Invitational is the second of five regular season tournaments for the Blue & Gray before the BIG EAST Championship.
