Georgetown Women’s Golf Travels to New Jersey for Princeton Invitational

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's golf team continues the season at the 2025 Princeton Invitational on October 4-5 in Princeton, New Jersey. The 13-team field will play the 54-hole tournament on the par-71, 6,086-yard course at the Springdale Golf Club.
 
FOLLOW THE HOYAS
  • Scoreboard by Clippd will be used to score the tournament with a link to the live scoring available on GUHoyas.com.
  • The tournament will begin on Saturday, October 4, with 36 holes scheduled for the first day and the final 18 scheduled for Sunday, October 5. .

  • Princeton Invitational Field: Albany, Boston University, Columbia, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Rutgers, St. John's, Seton Hall, Yale
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Carding a 50-over 914 (293-303-304), the Hoyas took 11th at the Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted by Penn State University over two days on September 21-22 in State College, Pennsylvania. The 16-team field played all 54 holes on the par-72, 6,363-yard Blue Course at the Penn State Golf Club. The host Nittany Lions won the event at 14-over 878 while the Hoyas were the top finisher among a trio of BIG EAST teams with St. John's (T13, +61) and Seton Hall (16, +85) also in the field.
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgia Ruffolo will compete in the top spot for the third time this season. At the Nittany Lion Invitational, Ruffolo was the top Hoya finisher as she tied for 11th at 4-over 220 (72-73-75). She recorded the best score for a Hoya in each round. For the tournament, she tallied seven birdies (3/2/2) and 37 pars (12/13/12).
  • Freshman Sunny Wang will compete in the second spot after tying for 47th at 15-over 231 (75-78-78) at Penn State. Her three-round performance was bolstered by five birdies (4/0/1) and 30 pars (7/13/10).
  • In the third spot will be Garbiella Eifrig, who, in her last outing, shot up 10 spots into a tie for 66th at 20-over 236 (76-85-75). Her 3-over 75 in the final round tied for the best score for a Hoya in the final round of action. Over 54 holes, she tallied five birdies (1/1/3) and 32 pars (14/9/9).
  • In her second tournament of the season, Olivia Ty will be making her debut in the Hoya lineup this fall in the fourth spot. Playing as an individual, Ty finished 83rd at 29-over 245 (78-83-84) in State College, Pennsylvania. In her first outing of the season, she totaled four birdies (1/1/2) and 26 pars (9/9/8) over two days.
  • Playing in the fifth spot will be Milla Sagel who returns to the lineup after competing in the first tournament of the year. At the Cougar Classic, Sagel shot up seven spots in the third round as she carded  an 18-over 231 (79-80-72). She totaled a squad-best six birdies (1/2/3) and tallied 29 pars (9/9/11).
  • In the sixth spot will be Mimi Burton, who tied for 47th at 15-over 231 (76-78-77) at the Nittany Lion Invitational. Over 54 holes, she tallied five birdies (1/1/3) and 32 pars (14/9/9).
 
HOYAS X PRINCETON INVITATIONAL
  • Returning to a fixture on the fall schedule, GU's trip north to the Springdale Golf Club on the campus of Princeton University marks the ninth time in 10 years the Hoyas have appeared in the tournament, missing only the 2020-21 COVID season.
  • Last year, the Hoyas were runners-up to the host Tigers, surging up from eighth place following the first round of action with former Hoya Charlotte Hillary leading the way in a tie for fifth place.
