EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The Georgetown University men's swimming & diving team became back-to-back BIG EAST Champions after holding off the Xavier Musketeers in the 2023 BIG EAST Championships, presented by Jeep. The women's team finished third with 1265.5 points.

"Super proud of this group," said Head Coach Jack Leavitt. "There were moments where it didn't look like we could pull it off but this group really stayed resilient. They really believed in each other from day one. We preach one through 59 on the roster is going to make it happen on the men's and women's side. I'm really proud of our women for their finish and obviously for the guys for winning but it really is a total team effort. I'm really excited to celebrate this with everybody and I can't wait to get back on the Hilltop."

Hoya Highlights

• The GU 400 free relay team of Sean Percin, Josiah Lauver, Andrew Babyak and Michael Baldini battled to the finish and earned second with a time of 2:58.88 to clinch the BIG EAST Championship title for the Hoyas.
• Stephen Kim (1:58.23) captured gold in the 200 breaststroke followed by Nick Pezzella (1:59.64) in third and Jack Brearton (2:00.52) in fourth.
• John McEachern and Matt Gibson went 2-3 in the 200 backstroke with times of 1:47.10 and 1:47.26
• Michael Baldini (44.37) and Bella Wylie (50.36) both took second in the 100 free. 
• In the 200 breaststroke Erin Hood picked up a second-place finish clocking a time of 2:14.42
