Washington College Team Race
1st of 8
Navy Women's Spring Fleet Race
7th of 18
  • The first day of the 2023 Navy Women's Fleet Race saw breezes from 255-360 degrees and 8-31 knots. Six races were completed in each division. Day two saw similar breeze strength, though the average was higher, but a much more stable northwest direction. Five races were able to be completed in each division before the cutoff time of 3 p.m.
  • The Hoyas finished seventh out of the full 18-team field with 80 points from the A boat and 88 from the B boat for a total of 168.
St. Mary's Team Race Inter-Conference
4th of 16
  • Mariner Fagan, Spencer Kriegstein; Mateo Di Blasi, Emily Panarella; Scott Mais, Diego Escobar, Caro Gaston, Eva Fortunato, Addi Harris
  • After a full day of team racing, the day ended with race 62 as the breeze died and race 63 was abandoned. Despite unstable conditions that required a good amount of course adjustment to keep racing fair, racing continued.
  • Sunday was a windy and cold day, and after race 79 the regatta management team faced the reality that the round of 16 could not be completed. As the field had been pre-seeded into two groups of eight, the top four from each group advanced to a gold (420) and bottom four to a silver (FJ) round along with a few sailoffs for trophy spots or MAISA ranking berths.
  • Group A: Harvard 7 Brown 6 Navy 4 UPenn 4 FRD 3 HWS 2 COR 2 KP 0
  • Group B: Yale 6 SMC 6 GTN 6 CofC 4 GW 2 ODU 2 NYM 0
  • Georgetown went 4-3 on the day defeating St. Mary's (1-2-3), Navy (1-2-5), Penn (1-2-5) and Charleston (1-2-4), but falling to Harvard (2-5-6), Yale (3-5-6) and Brown (4-5-6).
Up Next
  • The Hoyas will be back in action next weekend as the women travel to the Navy Women's Team Race, while the coed team competes at the Szambecki Team Race.
